10 days gone from the first announce of the Facebook connect, however there is no new information about it. last week just before the Facebook connect, google released first demo of Open Social as named Friend connect.

I think Facebook wait for a while to see the Google's Friend connect. Because The Friend Connect project is a version of FAcebook connect. Also Yahoo support and gives the access of its users to Friend Connect.

Facebook Connect Beta

Facebook chose the first tester of the Facebook Connect. It is digg.com. You know Digg is a big video, image and news sharing website.

After this test period It is expected that Facebook will release the common version of Facebook Connect. There is no offical exact time of this release but as we programmers are excited about Facebook Connect.

I hope so, It will not be like Open Social. Because after the first announce of Open Social, there is no other release or beta version of common.

Facebook Connect and other social sharing APIs

Poli using of one user's profile is not first created by Facebook. 5 months later Google announced the social sharing API of Open Social and Myspace just have announced the MySpace Data Availability.

It seems that by the improvement of this social sharing APIs internet users will use only few membership to logon social websites such as dating sites, forums etc. It is not to estimate that millions of social sites will be never use their membership database because of change to use this huge user database.

Facebook Connect is an API which can give access and authorization of facebook members to other social websites. It is developed by Facebook for enabling facebook users to login whenever they go.

Facebook Connect is a new iteration of facebook platform which gives third party developer to access information of users which want to use.

Members can be able to connect their Facebook account with any partner website using a secured authentication method. Whether at login, or anywhere else a developer would like to add social context, the user will be able to authenticate and connect their account in a trusted environment. The user will have total control of the permissions granted.

This Facebook Connect API was built on 4 main concept Trusted Authentication, Real Identity, Friends Access and Dynamic Privacy. By the help of this innovation Facebook shows the power of their website to Google.

As many of us know 6 months later Google announced the Open Social which have similar properties of Facebook Connect. However there is no announce about Open Social from Google.
